I am a physicist by trade, but find myself very interested in the American political, economic and cultural scene. With children, I sometimes am compelled to experience much more of popular cultural than I would prefer. Children also focus one’s vision on the future in which they will live. This increases my already inherent interest in politics and political economy.

This is a new version of my site. The older site has essays going back to 1995, before blogging was cool. The older essays can be found [1] here. As I find time, I will port the older essays here.

I used to be the contributing editor for Conservative Politics at Suite 101. I moved from that site as they changed the terms for contributors.
